Current Energy Credits & Rebates for Qualifying Equipment

  • 2009/2010 Federal Energy Tax Credit: There is a one-time Federal tax credit available that may be used during 2009 and 2010 for qualifying air conditioning systems, heat pump systems and gas furnaces.  Please check with your tax preparer to insure the credit will apply to you or go to www.energystar.gov.
  • Federal Solar (Photovoltaic) Tax Credits: Up to 30% of the installed cost of a photovoltaic system up to $2000 - in addition to the $1500 Federal tax energy credit for qualifying HVAC systems.
  • North Carolina Solar (Photovoltaic) Tax Credit: Up to 30% of the installed cost of a photovoltaic system up to $3500 - in addition to the $1500 Federal tax energy credit and Federal solar tax credit for qualifying HVAC systems.  The solar credit may be taken in the same year.  For more tax credit information:  www.dsireusa.com.
  • Federal GeoThermal Tax Credit:  Up to 30% of the cost of equipment and installation with no upper limit.   Tax credit may be taken on both primary residences and second homes. For more information go to www.energystar.gov. 
  • North Carolina GeoThermal Tax Credit:  Up to  35% of the cost to a maximum of $8400 for GeoThermal Heat Pump equipment and installation.  For more information see www.dsireusa.com
  • Duke Energy Rebate: Duke Energy customers may qualify for a $200 rebate for air conditioning or heat pump systems that achieve 14.0 SEER (and 8.2 EER for heat pumps) AND have a matching air handler or gas furnace with an ECM motor.  Residential accounts must be in good standing.  Climatech Heating & Cooling is an approved Participating Heating Dealer.  Additional information can be found on Duke Energy’s website or you may call them at 1-866-785-6209.
  • Piedmont Natural Gas: PNG has set aside a fund to offer customers in good standing a $300 rebate for the installation of a 90% efficient or greater gas furnace.  Limit of two rebates per household.  It is possible that when the fund is exhausted it will not be possible to receive a PNG rebate.  Climatech Heating & Cooling is an approved PNG Heating Contractor.
  • PSNC: Homeowners who install a 90% or greater high efficiency gas furnace may qualify for a $100 rebate.
  • EnergyUnited: NEW!  For Heat Pump Systems, Dual Fuel (Hybrid) Systems and GeoThermal Systems ONLY.  Heat Pump and Dual Fuel Systems that have a 14.0 SEER, 8.2 HSPF, and are equipped with an ECM fan motor are eligible for a $150 homeowner rebate per system.  Those systems that have a 15.0 SEER are eligible for a $300 homeowner rebate per system.  GeoThermal Heat Pump systems with an 11.5 EER qualify as well.  Climatech Heating & Cooling is an active participant of the Approved EnergyUnited HVAC Dealer Network and will complete the rebate form for all new system installations and provide the required documentation.  Residential accounts must be in good standing to receive the rebate.  For more information call your EnergyUnited Rebate Administrator at 1-800-822-0197 or contact Climatech at 704-483-7343.
