Trane Equipment

For over 90 years Trane has been providing homeowners with some of the finest heating and air conditioning systems available.    Trane’s unique dual compressor XL20i is impressive housing not one, but two compressors in the outdoor air conditioning or heat pump.

Air conditioning units and heat pumps are designed to perform under the most extreme temperatures to keep your home comfortable even when temperatures soar into the high 90’s.  Here’s a good analogy.  Your automobile engine is designed to be able to run at 120 mph or more, but how often do you need that maximum speed?  The answer is rarely, if ever.  The same is true for air conditioning and heat pump compressors.  80-90% of the time you only need your heating & cooling system to run at half its maximum capacity.   How energy saving is that?

Likewise, the XL16i has a two-stage scroll compressor that allows the air conditioning unit or heat pump to run at a little over half its full capacity, ramping up to maximum capacity when outdoor ambient temperatures are extreme.
Trane’s “Weather Guard” top ensures quiet operation.  It also helps to keep falling debris like leaves, dust, acorns, etc. away from the system components.  The powder-coated cabinet offers durability and a rust-resistant shell to shield and protect your outdoor systems most vital components.
Both the Trane XL20i and XL16i heating and cooling systems are “communicating” systems.  What this means to you, the homeowner, is that your system is designed to “know” through highly sophisticated technology what each component of the system should be doing at any given time.   Complete with Trane’s “charge assist” and comprehensive diagnostic board allows the service technician to quickly discover malfunctions or service issues.

High Efficiency Gas Furnaces:
True or False?
The fan motor located in your gas furnace is responsible for moving warm air through your home in the winter, but also cool air through you home in the summer?
That’s true.
  • Your fan motor is working almost every day of the year.  Makes sense to look at the new variable speed fan or blower motors.  Here are just a few things that make a variable speed blower motor exceptional whether it’s in a high efficiency gas furnace or an air handler (w/ heat pump):
  • Provides greater comfort.  The variable speed motor runs about 50% of the time, but mostly at a very soft, gentle speed.  The longer run time keeps your indoor air circulating a greater amount of time.
  • Provides energy efficiency.  It is this variable speed technology, or ECM motor, that increases the energy ratings like SEER, EER and HSPF.
  • “It’s the humidity!”  It is the humidity that makes us so uncomfortable during the summer months.  The variable speed fan or blower motor is able to remove more humidity from your home due to its increased run times.  Typically homeowners who opt for variable speed find that they can set their thermostats higher in the summer and be just as comfortable because the humidity has been decreased.
  • Helps prevent leaks from developing on your inside evaporator coil.  Usually a leak in the evaporator coil is the first indication that a system replacement is imminent.   The evaporator coil is constantly condensating as the air conditioning system works to remove the heavy, uncomfortable humidity from your home.  When metal is constantly wet it is more susceptible to rust.  The variable speed fan motor continues to move air over the wet coil long past time when the air conditioning or heat pump compressor have stopped working.  This helps “dry” that coil.

As you can see there are many ways in which Trane systems can improve your home.  Please call us today for a complete list of Trane air conditioners, heat pumps, high efficient gas furnaces and air handlers.  Not to mention the accesssories!
